THE TOMB

Writer: BorhanBorhan

African architecture and design is rich and varied – perhaps none more so than that of Ancient Egypt. Houses of mudbrick, temples and tombs built from limestone and granite; grand monuments to the gods, vast limestone columns reaching up to the heavens, the walls etched with images of deities and pharaohs, the god-kings. Inscriptions of rites and rituals fill many a temple, surrounding statues of ancient and forgotten things. The people of the Nile were a pious society, and their designs reflected it with every brick laid, and each stone carved.
